
About the Artist
Margarete de Soleil has been an Artist, Illustrator and Art Teacher for over 30 years. She has a BFA summa cum laude from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Margarete has continued her studies at The Maine College of Art, The University of Maine, Orono, and The New York Studio School. Margarete now lives in Missoula, Montana.
She creates her work from the world in which she lives, including her travels abroad. Her recent work is focused on painterly drawings of river rocks entitled "Mutable Stones" series, available through Albert Shahinian Fine Art, Hudson, NY. Her work also includes ink and pencil drawings, gesture drawings, watercolor and acrylic paintings, plaster and ceramic sculptures of nature, landscape, figure studies, animals and iconographic bird feathers.
